But do I even need to re-enroll in Medicare Advantage if I am already enrolled?
It’s important to note that if you’ve moved having already enrolled in Medicare Advantage, your plan may not have followed along. You may have to enroll in a new plan.
Moving may trigger a Special Enrollment Period which will allow you to do just that, up to one month before your move and up to two months after you take up residence.

So if I had Medicare previously and recently moved, I may not be covered?
Not necessarily. Depending on your plan, the Medicare Advantage plan may not follow you to a new city, county, or state, so it is important to check the status of your plan and re-enroll, if necessary.
When should I enroll in Medicare Advantage?
If you had coverage through a Medicare Advantage plan before you moved and have notified your plan, your Special Enrollment Period timeframe begins one month before you move and lasts for two months after your move.
If you don’t notify your plan until after you move, you can switch plans the month you provided notice of the move and up to two months after.
